To know about *Weight Reduction* : Dr Rakesh Sharma ( NDDY)

*Weight Reduction*
*Surya Mudra* (Sun Gesture) increases the fire element (Agni) in the body while reducing the earth element, which helps stimulate metabolism and support weight management.
Acupressure & Reflexology Points for Weight Reduction
Applying firm, steady pressure (1–2 minutes per point, twice daily) helps balance digestion and metabolism:
* Thyroid / Parathyroid Point (Hand Reflexology): Located at the base of the thumb, on the fleshy pad (thenar eminence). Stimulating this area helps balance metabolic rate.

* Spleen 6 (SP6 – Sanyinjiao): Located 4 finger-widths above the inner ankle bone, right behind the tibia. Helps eliminate dampness, improves digestion, and reduces water retention.

* Stomach 36 (ST36 – Zusanli): Located about 4 finger-widths below the kneecap, 1 finger-width outside the shinbone. Boosts digestive power and energy metabolism.

* Ren 12 (Zhongwan): Located on the midline of the abdomen, halfway between the belly button and the base of the sternum. Regulates stomach energy and controls excessive appetite.
How to Perform Surya Mudra
* Sit comfortably with your spine erect and hands resting on your knees, palms facing upward.
* Bend your ring finger inward so the tip touches the base of your thumb.
* Gently press your thumb over the second phalanx (the middle fold) of the ring finger.
* Keep the remaining three fingers (index, middle, and little finger) straight but relaxed.
* Practice on both hands simultaneously.
Key Benefits
* Metabolic Boost: Increases internal body heat (Ushna), helping burn excess fat.
* Digestive Support: Enhances Jatharagni (digestive fire), improving nutrient assimilation and reducing sluggishness.
* Lethargy Reduction: Helps clear heaviness or fatigue associated with excess Kapha energy.
* Cholesterol Support: Assists in reducing lipid accumulation in the body.
Duration & Best Time
* Duration: Start with 15 minutes daily. You can gradually build up to 30–45 minutes total (either at once or split into two 15-minute sessions).
* Timing: Best practiced early in the morning on an empty stomach or at least 2 hours after meals.
Precautions & Contraindications
* Avoid in Hot Weather / High Body Heat: Do not practice excessively during peak summer or if you experience high acidity, fever, or hot flashes.

* Underweight / Weakness: Should be avoided by individuals who are underweight or severely frail.
* Hydration: Always drink a glass of warm water after practicing, as this gesture generates internal heat.
